How to submit a paper
Use the online author portal to send your manuscript—and what happens after you submit.
Overview
Manuscripts for Desert Research Association journals are submitted through the site’s author portal. Prepare your file according to the Author guidelines, then upload an editable Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx) with the required metadata.
After a successful upload, the corresponding author receives a confirmation by email. The manuscript then enters editorial screening and, when appropriate, peer review.
Online submission
Create or sign in to an author account, choose the target journal, and complete the submission form. You will be asked for:
- Manuscript title and abstract
- Keywords and article type
- Author names, affiliations, and corresponding-author contact details
- The manuscript file in Word format
- Any supplementary files the journal accepts
For double-blind review, strip author-identifying information from the manuscript body and from file properties before upload.
Start a new submission from the author area of this website (Submit / author portal), or from a journal page using its “Submit” link.
If you cannot use the portal
If a file is unusually large or the portal is unavailable, contact the editorial office through the site’s Contact page. Include the manuscript title, corresponding author’s full name, affiliation, and a working email address, and describe the technical problem you encountered. Prefer the online system whenever it is working—email is only a fallback.
What happens next
- Editorial staff check scope, completeness, and basic guideline compliance
- Suitable manuscripts are assigned for peer review under the journal’s review model
- You may be asked for revisions, additional files, or clarifications
- A formal decision (accept, revise, or decline) is communicated to the corresponding author
Track status and upload revisions from your author dashboard once the submission is in the system.
Before you submit
- Confirm the work is original and not under consideration elsewhere
- Follow the journal’s formatting and ethics requirements
- Ensure the corresponding author can respond promptly to editorial messages
- Understand that submission alone does not mean acceptance or publication
- Do not pay any processing charge until you receive an official acceptance notice
