Article processing charges
How publication charges support open access operations—and when payment is requested.
Why charges exist
Desert Research Association journals are financed primarily through article processing charges (APCs). Fees help cover peer-review administration, production, hosting, long-term archiving, and platform maintenance. We do not request payment until a manuscript has been formally accepted.
Do not pay any processing fee unless you have received an official acceptance notice from the editorial office.
Indicative schedule
Exact amounts may vary by journal and article type. The figures below are illustrative starting points for a standard research article under typical length and figure limits. Confirm the current schedule on the journal page or in your acceptance letter.

Waivers and discounts
Limited waivers or discounts may be considered for corresponding authors without institutional funding, particularly from regions with constrained research budgets. Requests should be made before or at submission and never after an invoice is issued without prior agreement.
Invoicing
Invoices are issued only after acceptance. Payment instructions, bank details, and any applicable taxes will appear on the official invoice. Beware of fraudulent requests that do not match our published contact channels.
